Mickey Caruso-Yahne, CTSS, CMT-200 (they/them)

My approach

Mindfulness teacher, retired Air Force Senior Master Sergeant, chaplain, and lover of the outdoors - experiences meditation and mindful awareness as a path to balance service work with an inner calling toward stillness, presence, and genuine self-care.  They now share these practices through the Midwest Mindfulness Collective to support personal and systemic healing, resilience, and meaningful spiritual exploration in community.

My mindfulness training and teaching experience:

Angela Caruso-Yahne is a meditation practitioner and mindfulness trainer whose interests include wellness and resilience for people who experience stress and secondary trauma, and spiritual practices for non-religious people. Their background is comprised of service as a paramedic, law enforcement officer, disaster rescue technician, and military flight medic. They retired from the Air Force at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and currently serve as Chief of EMS at the Overland Park Fire Department. They are a Certified Trauma Services Specialist through the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists, and frequently present programs on mindfulness, wellness, and resilience throughout the first responder community and to emergency management volunteers. Angela has completed Trauma Resource Model training (Level II). They also are an instructor for PauseFirst Academy whose mission is to normalize meditation and mindfulness in first responders communities. Angela is an ordained chaplain who completed training at Upaya Zen Center, and they received a Bachelor in Public Administration from Park University.

My mindfulness journey

With a strong belief that mindfulness can set a foundation for healing of both individuals and systems, Angela is motivated to help people discover their own spiritual paths and practices that support wellness and decrease suffering.

The populations I serve:

Adults, First Responders, Veterans, LGBTQIA+. Angela offers individual mindfulness practice mentoring, Trauma Resource Model sessions, and non-religious spiritual formation mentoring. Fees for military veterans, first responders, and persons identifying as LGBTQIA+ are flexible.
